summaries

Brief summaries of the different ideas that have been stomping through my head. And I mean brief - I could go on for pages, especially for the untitled monster.

Yes, many of these stories have the same characters, or rather, variations of the same characters. I love my boys (okay, men) and I like working with them in all their incarnations. Sometimes they're similar, sometimes they're completely different, but they're always loved.

current

These will probably be current forever, because they keep growing. *facepalm*

the untitled monster [140k+ words]
starring: Julian, Christian, Walther, Sebastian
summary: A novel set in semi-historical early medieval Germany. The Alkwin and Reinhard baronies were established to protect the fertile lands near vampire Walther's forest from danger. The competence of Julian's family, the Alkwins, is thrown into question by a series of events that is set into motion when Walther enters the manor and attacks Anna, Julian's only sister.

Falling Down [23k+ words]
starring: Walther, Sebastian, Wilrich, Julian, Christian
summary: A modern retelling of the monster. This time, Walther is a medieval German baron who owns a medical research company that studies blood genetics. He comes to the US to deal with a blackmailing competitor, August Alkwin, who knows his secret and wishes to use it for personal gain. Walther's emotions are stirred by his rival's son, Sebastian, a gentle young man with a boatload of emotional baggage. And yes, the title is from the Duran Duran song. *has good taste*

future

Sorted roughly in order of likeliness-to-happen. Or something.

Golden
starring: Chrysanthos, Kallias
summary: An original Greek-style myth. Chrysanthos is a young priest-in-training at the temple of Kallias, god of plenty. Before he can become a full priest, he must be dedicated to his god, but he can't bear the thought of allowing anyone but Kallias himself to perform the ceremony.

The Fairy Queen
starring: Julian, Christian
summary: Fairies are like bees; they live in a hive, gather pollen to turn into honey, and serve a queen who is mother of all. Unlike bees, they're all male. ^^b Julian is a young royal, successor to the throne, and must choose one of the noble drones to be his primary mate. Christian is a lowly worker who never forgot a random encounter from months before, never realizing he had met the future queen until the opening of the coronation festivities.

saint†vampire
starring: Julian, Christian, Walther, Sebastian (and probably Wilrich)
summary: A purposely cheesy, episodic, manga-style story. Julian and Christian are two vampires turned traitor, hunting their own in order to win redemption. Or maybe it will be Walther and Sebastian, because it would be fun to make Julian a demon who's posing as an angel. *waggles eyebrows*

untitled
starring: Alexander and some guy who will not be named Guy (new characters, shocking, I know)
summary: A short (ha!) story set in WWI England. The guy is a new addition to an elite squad that hunts the vampires who prey on the weak, desperate people affected by the war. Alexander is an infamous French vampire who was captured by the squad, and is kept at their base as a test subject for the research and development of new anti-vampire technology.

Rahenna
starring: ???
summary: It's the story that inspired my online nickname. Or was it the other way around? Anyway, the city of Rahenna is perched on an unusual rock formation separating the desert from the sea. Its idealistic history - 27 generations of peace - is a load of hooey. The library and its contents have been burned to ash several times over the years, and the strange history of the Rahenna family has been replaced with innocuous BS. Meanwhile, distant relatives exiled to the desert long ago are finally ready to reclaim what was stolen, starting with the young son of the main family.
